Tim Carey is a professional golf coach and player development specialist based in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where golf has been part of his life since the beginning. Born and raised on his family’s golf courses — Village Links and Squirrel Run — Tim grew up learning the game the same way he now teaches it: through hands-on experience, competition, and a love for constant improvement.
Tim competed for Coyle & Cassidy High School in Taunton, MA before advancing to the Junior Players Golf Academy (JPGA) in Hilton Head, SC. There, he trained full-time for nine months, sharpening both his game and his competitive edge while playing in events designed to prepare him for college golf.
His performance earned him recruitment to Greensboro College, where the golf team was ranked #1 in the nation (Division III) at the time. After a semester, Tim made a pivotal decision — college wasn’t the right path for his development. He stepped into coaching at just 19 years old, teaching golfers locally for five years and discovering a passion for helping others improve.
That foundation laid the groundwork for his next chapter: pursuing professional golf full-time.
Tim has since traveled to 31 states and 3 countries competing in high-level professional events, including:
Minor League Golf Tour
Golden State Tour
Circuit Canada Pro Tour
PGA Tour Canada — Member (2017)
Korn Ferry Tour Q-School — Advanced to Second Stage
Through these experiences, he gained a firsthand understanding of what the game demands physically, mentally, and strategically at the highest level.
Throughout his playing career, Tim trained with elite coaches who have worked with PGA Tour winners and top-ranked amateurs, including:
Tom Cavicchi
Paul Scaletta
Adam Porzak
He also developed his mental game under performance coach Jamie Glazier (Australia), known for working with world-class competitors.
These influences are integrated into every program Tim delivers today.
Tim believes that every golfer has a best version of themselves waiting to be unlocked — and the right coaching plan is how you get there.
His approach combines:
✔ Technical skill development
✔ Mental performance training
✔ On-course decision-making
✔ Competitive preparation
✔ Accountability and progress tracking
Whether you’re brand new to the game or preparing for tournament play, Tim builds a customized roadmap based on your goals, your swing, and your personality.
